826 Boston is proud to award its first scholarship to Aslin Santos, a 2008 graduate of Greater Egleston Community High School. The scholarship, generated through funds raised by volunteers, will provide support in purchasing books and materials in Aslin's first year at Bunker Hill Community College, where she is enrolled for the fall.
Aslin was one of the first participants in 826 Boston's programs, and is pictured here working on her college essay with Ali, one of our dedicated volunteers.
As Aslin writes, "Writing is a true passion of mine. Therefore, I appreciated 826 Boston tutors respecting this passion as they worked to help me become a better writer. I have plans of completing a double major, in English and in Education. The knowledge and experiences I have gained through working with 826 will benefit me both in college and in my future endeavors."
Congratulations, Aslin!
