As we enter our second year of programming, we wanted to take a moment to send some heartfelt thanks to all the folks who have supported us over the past year and contributed to making our first year such a success.
- Thanks to the student editorial board at English High School, without whom I Wish They Would Have Asked Me would not exist.
- Thanks to the many teachers who partnered with us in their classrooms.
- Thank you to everyone who gave this year: the generosity of all our volunteers, donors, supporters, and foundations continues to amaze us.
Though we've got a year under our belt, there are still plenty of areas in which you can support and participate in our programming.
- If you are available between 3 - 6 pm, Monday - Thursday, sign up to read with Kiera, do fractions with Stephanie, and write comic books with Christopher at after-school tutoring!
- The Greater Boston Bigfoot Research Institute is seeking intrepid souls to run the cash register, answer questions, and look great in a lab coat. Sign up to take a shift.
- Make a tax-deductible donation before year's end - send a check or use paypal.
- There are many different ways you can become involved in 826 Boston. We don't require any minimum time commitment, and we make it super easy to volunteer!
Finally, we hope you'll pass along information about our high-quality, free programs to friends and youth you know.
- Our fall workshop calendar is full of exciting offerings like the Emergency Storytelling Kit and Narrate Yourself!
- Teachers of grades 1-4 can sign up to bring their class on a Storytelling & Bookmaking Field Trip.
- Join our mailing list to receive updates about events, programs, and volunteer opportunities.
- Teachers of grades 1-12 can request in-schools support in their classrooms, and we'll bring trained tutors to offer writing help to your students.
Thanks so much for making 07-08 the productive and inspiring year it was -- we're looking forward to even greater things in 08-09!
With gratitude,
Daniel & Hannah, 826 Boston
