826 Boston and One Laptop Per Child Founder Nicholas Negroponte welcomed 130 guests to Books for Breakfast on Wednesday, November 16th. The event raised over $50,000, which will pay for 2 months of free writing programs for Boston's underserved youth!
The morning featured a provocative glimpse into the future of youth literacy in the digital age, as well as a presentation by Kyanna, an 826 Boston author and teen tutor, who read her story "Pelito" from We Think You're Old Enough To Know.
We'd like to thank all our guests, table captains, and volunteers for a successful event! A special thanks to our corporate sponsors for supporting 826 Boston's Books for Breakfast:
