826 Boston was proud to partner with Carrie Clifford and Gloria Harrison of the Hard Candy & Fruit Snacks for the third year in a row on these scholarships. The scholarship aims to assist college-bound seniors from Wayland METCO or from Boston Public Schools who have participated in 826 Boston programming. Students submitted an essay about their dedication to social justice for their scholarship application. The primary goal of the scholarship is to support these students in their pursuit of higher education. Four students received $10,000 scholarships and eight students received runner-up awards of smaller awards.

To learn more about how the scholarships got started, check out this article published last year by the Dorchester Reporter, and listen to this podcast episode with Carrie and Gloria to hear from previous winners.

Congratulations to all the college-bound seniors!
