Author Angie Thomas is an inspiration and role model for the 826 Boston community because of the way she has used writing as a tool for accountability, expression, and advocacy. We are honored to have co-sponsored her Feb. 7 Boston appearance at The Wilbur on the book tour promoting her new novel, On the Come Up. The event was hosted by our friends at Brookline Booksmith. Legacy Thornton, alumna and now coach of the John D. O’Bryant High School Writers’ Room slam poetry team, performed at Angie Thomas’ reading in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
