Our biggest Half Half Half Half Half Marathon yet!

April 22, 2026

On a sunny but chilly evening on April 16, more than 250 runners showed up ready to break a light sweat for youth literacy. Now in its tenth year, 826 Boston hosted the Half Half Half Half Half Marathon—the 0.826-mile race that supports our free writing and tutoring programs while bringing the community together for a fun-filled evening.

This year, every participant earned a gold medal in fundraising. We surpassed our $25,000 goal, and then surpassed our $30,000 goal, and have now raised nearly $35,000! (and counting…you can still donate here!) in support of 826 Boston’s programs.

Boston City Councilor Benjamin Weber helped kick off the festivities. Prizes were awarded to the top individual fundraiser, top fundraising team, race finisher, closest time to 8:26, best costume, and best finish line pose.

The festivities aren’t over yet! Our friends at Said and Done Tattoo in Jamaica Plain are hosting a tattoo flash sale on April 26, 2026, with a portion of the proceeds going toward our marathon goal!

Thank you to our friends at Tres Gatos in Jamaica Plain who held a fundraiser on April 9th, with 20% of all proceeds from their restaurant and book/record store going to 826 Boston. They raised more than $1,300 for the Half Half Half Half Half Marathon!

A huge thanks to all our sponsors!

We were thrilled to partner with Sorbae Frozen Treats, who brought their cart to offer refreshing snacks and generously donated a portion of their proceeds to the marathon total.

Would you like us to hold a spot to sponsor our 2027 Half Half Half Half Half Marathon? Consider these sponsor opportunities for 2027 and email Nabiha@826boston.org!
