Scientist Quizzed and Funds Raised at Books for Breakfast

December 8, 2015

On a brisk morning in late November, the 826 Boston community came together for our annual fundraiser, Books for Breakfast. This year featured a special radio show from W826, with inspiring guests like NASA scientist turned author Randall Munroe, WBUR radio personality Christopher Lydon, and esteemed 826 Boston student author Joel Torres on topics ranging from snowflakes to chocolate cake.

For those who missed it, you can read about the event in the Boston Globe and view pictures of the event.

Thanks to the many generous contributions in support of 826 Boston’s free youth writing programs, we’re fast approaching our goal of $150,000–that makes this year’s Books for Breakfast a resounding, record-breaking success. If you couldn’t make the event, there’s still time to lend your support! Head to our donation page and help us give voice to students’ stories.

With so much happening in the 826 Boston community, we can not wait to share the marvelous stories from our students. In the meanwhile, enjoy this video from Cage Free Productions about what storytelling means to us here at 826 Boston.
