826 Boston is excited to welcome New York Times bestselling author and CNN political commentator, Keith Boykin, to our writing and tutoring center for a book release event for his newest publication, Why Does Everything Have To Be About Race?

This free event, which will take place at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 6, at 3035 Washington Street in Roxbury, will feature Boykin reading excerpts from his book, a youth-led discussion on the race in the United States, book signing opportunities, and a chance to learn more about volunteer opportunities with 826 Boston.

About Keith: A former White House aide to President Bill Clinton and Harvard Law School graduate, Boykin’s latest publication tackles modern racial arguments that threaten racial progress and social justice. With a mixture of personal experience, reportage, and extensive research, Boykin dissects twenty-five of the most widespread deceptions about race, including arguments targeting affirmative action, critical race theory, and the purpose of the Civil War.
