Ellen has been involved in teaching and writing spaces in Boston since moving here in 2015 for their Creative Writing BFA from Emerson College. There, they served two years with the AmeriCorps program JumpStart. After graduation, Ellen worked at Cambridge Public Schools in a substantially separate classroom for learners with autism spectrum disorders. They have also tried their hand at Operations for both GrubStreet and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council. Ellen’s relationships with writing and learning were heavily influenced by their own school’s Writing Center, and they are eager to bring their experiences with writing and young people together to support students in the same way. Ellen lives in JP with their partner and two cats, Maura and Morbius. They can generally be found either knee-deep in sudoku and crossword puzzles, playing tabletop/video games, or somewhere outside.
