Are you ready to go the distance (26.2 miles, that is) for 826 Boston’s free writing and tutoring programs?

Apply to run the Boston Marathon for 826 Boston!

This year, we’re excited to offer two runners a bib for the 2023 Boston Marathon as an official partner of John Hancock in the Marathon Non-Profit Program.

Runners will be required to raise a minimum of $7,500, and all funds will support 826 Boston programming—from college essays and science fair projects to after-school clubs and professionally published books.

826 Boston runners will also receive:

  • Fundraising and communications support, including a pre-marathon event at Castle Island Brewery, and frequent calls with our team (if helpful)
  • 826 Boston gear (including a race day singlet)
  • Training support from previous 826 Boston marathon runners
  • A community to cheer you on every step of the way

We’re proud to once again be an official partner of the John Hancock in the Marathon Non-Profit Program. Through this program, John Hancock helps foster healthier, more equitable communities by annually donating 1,000 Boston Marathon® entries to select non-profit organizations that use them for fundraising. Last year, John Hancock Non-Profit Runners raised $11.7M for their causes.

We’ll be choosing our two runners by the end of October, so apply to run the 2023 Boston Marathon today. Visit bit.ly/3Teg1kP to apply.

If you’re not a runner, you can still be a part of the team! Donate to help us reach our goal of $20,000.
