Hope. Creativity. Resilience.

Join us for a virtual evening to celebrate 826 Boston students and the hope, creativity, and resilience they bring during this unprecedented time. This event gives you an opportunity to learn firsthand about how 826 Boston continues to respond to the needs of students, families, and teachers during the COVID-19 crisis through digital program offerings. The event will also highlight some incredible student leaders and writers featured in a new film by Matt Watson and will feature a conversation with author Jennifer De Leon and writer and actor Jenny Slate.

You can RSVP here.

Jenny Slate is an actress, stand-up comedian, and The New York Times bestselling author of the children’s book Marcel The Shell with Shoes On. She has been in many movies and TV shows and also plays many cartoon animals. Jenny is a graduate of Columbia University and has a young heart and an antique soul. Her most recent book, Little Weirds, came out November 2019.

Jennifer De Leon is the author of Don’t Ask Me Where I’m From (forthcoming from Atheneum/Simon & Schuster in May 2020) and the editor of Wise Latinas (University of Nebraska Press). An Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Framingham State University, and a GrubStreet instructor and board member, she has published prose in over a dozen literary journals, including PloughsharesIowa Review, and Michigan Quarterly Review. She lives in the Boston area.
