Night of 1,000 Stories with Kara Swisher

We are excited to announced our featured speaker and honoree for our annual gala, Night of 1,000 Stories! Join us for an inspiring evening, featuring renowned journalist, podcast host, and CNN contributor Kara Swisher! We will also honor NBC10’s Glenn Jones with 826 Boston’s “Changing the Narrative” Award.

The evening includes lively student stories, delicious food and drink, and a chance to meet fellow Bostonians who want to make a difference. We’ll also have plenty of fun ways to support Boston students in grades K-12 to share their stories and amplify their voices.

Kara Swisher is host of On with Kara Swisher and co-host of Pivot. She’s editor-at-large at New York Magazine and a CNN contributor, where she hosts the series Kara Swisher Wants to Live Forever. She was the cofounder and editor-at-large of the technology website Recode and co-executive producer of the Code conference. Considered the top reporter in the tech game, Swisher has been reporting on the industry since the early 1990s. She is a former contributing opinion writer for The New York Times and has also worked for The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post. She’s the author of the New York Times–bestselling memoir, Burn Book: A Tech Love Story (Simon & Schuster, 2024).

Glenn Jones is an Emmy Award–winning journalist whose career spans television news, crisis communications, and tourism leadership. Jones joined NBC10 Boston and NECN as a reporter and anchor in 2021. He has nearly a decade of experience in television news, including a three-year tenure as a general assignment reporter in Boston.

Jones received his bachelor of science degree in broadcast journalism from Emerson College. He is an active community volunteer with special interests in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, youth literacy, and mentorship.
