Family Writing Night and Noche de Escritura Familiar

May 16, 2017

Last week, 826 Boston held not one but two Family Writing Nights. As always, a set of very important rules guided these evenings: be kind, write in any language, speak your truth, there are no mistakes, and have fun.

This time, we offered one writing night led in English and one
en español. The task set out for attendees was to write sequential stories, both within and across families: each person had two minutes to write their section of the story and then passed it on for the next person to continue. This format yielded creative results and collaborative thinking. Of course, no writing night would be complete without pizza!

Thanks to all of the students and families who came out to write with us. See you next time!
