Meredith Goldstein Shares Lessons on Advice-Giving and Romance-Writing

February 14, 2019

Advice columnist and author Meredith Goldstein spent Valentine’s Day at the 826 Boston Writers’ Room at the John D. O’Bryant School of Math and Science sharing lessons on writing a relationship column and a young adult romance novel.

The author gave ninth-grade English students a peek into the writing of her Boston Globe column Love Letters. Hands shot up to ask what it was like to give advice for a living. She also illuminated her research process for Chemistry Lessons, a young adult novel that blends romance with science. After the talk, the author signed copies of the book, donated by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Meredith Goldstein is a member of 826 Boston’s literary board. She has presented author talks to 826 Boston students, served on the event committee for Night of 1,000 Stories (826 Boston’s annual literary gala), and served as host for an annual literary trivia night benefiting 826 Boston.

An advice columnist and entertainment reporter for The Boston Globe, Meredith Goldstein is also the author of two novels and a memoir. Find her at meredithgoldstein.com.
