Transgender Awareness Week

November 23, 2021

A photo of transgender people killed from Unerased, a comprehensive, data-driven analysis of transgender murders between 2010 and 2016.

Last week, 826 Boston marked Transgender Awareness Week with these resources curated by our DEI Director Francie Latour. As Francie shared in a note to our team, the resources were designed to engage all of us to:

  • Say the names of trans lives stolen in 2021
  • Understand the magnitude and dimensions of anti-trans violence through data visualization
  • Behold trans voices through performance poetry
  • Celebrate, protect and fight for the humanity of trans people who are LIVING, especially trans Black and Brown women/femmes, who are disproportionately targeted by anti-trans violence.

We hope you’ll read, watch, and take action today—and every day. If you have other resources to share, please send them to us at info@826boston.org

*Please use caution when engaging with these resources, as they may be triggering.
