We’re elated to welcome to our team 14 new service members (and 7 beloved returning service members) from AmeriCorps VISTA and a state AmeriCorps partnership with the Massachusetts Service Alliance! We spent August getting to know each other, and we’re so excited to be joined by such a passionate and lively cohort (which includes a geologist, a former Youtuber, and quite a few writers).
The summer of 2020 has brought unexpected challenges and joys to 826 Boston. We ran virtual summer camps, gave college essay support online, continued to publish student writing—we even threw a few raucous digital open mics. As we move into the new school year (and continue to creatively conquer cyberspace), we couldn’t feel more grateful to be a part of such a dedicated, vibrant team of service members and staff.
